I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel in Kyoto and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. the staff were absolutely lovely, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Secondly, the rooms were beautifully decorated in Japanese style, complete with super comfy futons that provided a restful night's sleep. And lastly, the breakfast, though not included, was a delightful culinary adventure. Every bite was traditional, incredibly delicious, and beautifully presented.
All in all, our stay at this hotel was fantastic and I cannot think of a single thing that could be improved. Everything was simply perfect.

We had a wonderful stay in a traditional Japanese hotel. the location was perfect just a block from the subway station, a few minutes' walk from the Gion area, hidden away in a small street. the spacious room was clean and tidy, with homemade sweets and a hot water kettle set up for us. Breakfast was the icing on the cake: it was different than what we were used to, beautifully presented and delicious.
The walls and tatami might look worn out as it's an old hotel, but the facilities are well-maintained and clean.

The location of the ryokan was excellent, as it was within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and they made us feel at home. The ryokan was impeccably clean, and the room had a lovely fragrance of traditional Japanese tatami. We especially loved the daijo-gashi that were provided every morning with a cup of tea.
One minor issue that we had was the lack of hot water in the sink and toilet. This was not a major issue for us, but it could be uncomfortable for some guests.
